Stratstone Chesterfield Raise £5,200 for SPARKS

This year the Bodyshop Team at Stratstone Chesterfield came up with the idea of holding a sponsored bike ride to Mablethorpe, hence the name "Run to the Sun 5000" - £5000 being the amount they aimed to raise in sponsorship.

The bodyshop team consisted of very keen and able cyclists right down to near novices, so it was always going to be a challenge for them all to make it to Mablethorpe, they all put on their "SPARKS" t-shirts and set off from Chesterfield at 6am on Sunday 31st July. They all made it to Mablethorpe and some even rode another 12 miles back to Louth where they were all staying the night.

Jonathan Davies, Dealer Principal and his partner Diane decided that as they didn't have bikes they would walk the last 30 miles in order to all meet in Mablethorpe at the end.

The cyclists were helped by a support team made up of other Stratstone Chesterfield team members, Ron Gains (Service Team Leader) and his wife Jane followed the team in the Parts van with supplies of refreshments, spare parts and First aid.
